Travel destination
Merasjärvi is a small village about 200 km north above the arctic circle and about 80 km far away from Kiruna. Politically, it belongs to the city of Kiruna. The next larger village though, where you find a bank, a post office and a food store is Vittangi, at 20 km distance.
Merasjärvi is a swedish village, but the borders to Finland and Norway are close and this is why you will hear at least 3 languages spoken by the inhabitants: swedish, finnish and the native samish.
The nearest airport and train station are at Kiruna.

Journey by plane
If you come from the european countries you need to get a flight to Stockholm first. In Stockholm you have to change planes in order to reach the airport in Kiruna. The flight time from Stockholm to Kiruna is 1,5 hours.
The following listed companies offer flights from Stockholm/Arlanda airport to Kiruna: Sas (www.sas.se) has departures twice a day and www.norwegian.se offers flights as well.
The prices can vary a lot depending on the day of arrival- and departure.
Journey by train
If you decide to take the train in order to reach our huskyfarm, you have to calculate with at least 2 extra travel days.
From Stockholm you take the night train to Kiruna and you will arrive the following day at noon at Kiruna station.
Rental car from Kiruna to us
For avoiding unnecessary delay in your arrival in Merasjärvi a rental car can be booked at the airport /station. Please let us know if you wish to have a rental car. After appr. 1 hour by car you have reached your destination.
PickUp from/to the Airport
A Pick up service can be arranged with us. We will charge you 100Euro from the Airport to our Farm.
Travel conditions
After having sent us your application form you will receive the confirmation of the order together with the request to deposit 10% /traveling price/ per person on our bank account.
Your booking is valid after we have received the deposit.
The total amount of the tour price will be due at least 30 days before your arrival.
Short-term bookings – less than 30 days before arrival are must be paid immediately in one total rate.
After registration of the deposit on our account, with the confirmation of your order you will receive more information and details about the programe and the necessary equipment.
Each participant is responsible for taking his own travel- and cancellation insurance. We can neither be held responsible for damages nor for compensation claims.
The tour organiser is not liable for acts of god such as natural disasters or strike.
Each participant has to respect safety regulations as well as legal customs- and passport regulations.
Any additional fee, caused by not respecting general travel conditions and rules, will be charged fully to the participant.
Cancellation:
In the event that the trip has to be canceled, the following cancellation conditions apply:
• 60 days before arrival – free of charge
• 59 to 30 days before arrival – cancellation costs 10% of the price
• 29 to 15 days before arrival – cancellation costs 30% of the price
• 14 to 8 days before arrival – cancellation costs 50% of the price
• Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show – cancellation costs 100% of the travel price
